Mission

Our mission is to provide opportunities for women to get connected and to grow into a deeply rooted relationship with Christ so that the fruit of His Spirit may be presented, according to God's good purpose in their lives, to their families, church, workplace and community.

Vision

Ladies' Ministries at His Place Community Church serves every woman that attends this church and is a platform for outreach to the women in our community.

This ministry models a fruit tree with deep roots in the Word of God and prayer and a solid trunk of values and structure that keep it standing strong. It is an organism that can grow in exciting directions as new needs and opportunities arise.

The main "branches" of the Minis-tree are the ladies that choose to accept a position on the steering team. These are women that feel that God is calling them to use the gifts and talents He has given them to serve the women at His Place. Each branch has its twigs and leaves, so the work does not stop with just the steering team. Instead, the work is spread out to lighten each person's load while developing as much "fruit" as possible.

The "fruit" are the blessings the Lord chooses to develop through our minis-tree. The possibilities are endless and only the Lord knows what delicious fruit He can create through us. It will range from the fruit of the Spirit evident in women's personal lives (Galatians 5:22) to other amazing benefits like new relationships with the Lord, maturing faith, discovering a hidden skill or talent, or developing a friendship of love and accountability with a sister in Christ.

This "Minis-tree" is rooted near the Lord, the constant and refreshing Stream of Living Water; all fruit that comes from it is through Him. Deepening the collective roots of our faith in the Lord through study of the Word and prayer helps us to avoid trying to create fruit by our own efforts.

Ladies' Ministries events and programs (both large- and small-scale) offer the women of His Place the fertile soil they need to individually grow closer to Jesus with all their hearts, souls, minds and bodies.

Just as trees experience seasons and need pruning, so this Minis-tree will go through fluctuations and need maintaining care. Evaluating all Ladies' Ministries activities will help us to ensure we are doing the most with the time we have. An occasional pruning may be necessary as we find events or programs that are not accomplishing God's purposes for the women in our church.

Core Values

The core values of Ladies' Ministries are part of the trunk of the minis-tree. From these values, healthy branches can grow and find the support needed to bear the full weight of God's fruit. Based on scripture, these principles are foundational to the purpose of this ministry.

G

lorify God with humble hearts.

Motivations must be checked in every situation. Selfish ambition or seeking the approval of mankind will set us on the wrong course every time. Everything we do should be done for God's glory or not done at all. This requires a humble heart, which is at the root of a servant leader.

However, we must not hide the precious light we've been given in false humility either. If He has blessed us, taught us, or forgiven us we must declare from the hilltops what He has done.

"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others". Philippians 2:3-4

R

ecognize each woman as a unique and valuable part of the unified Body of Christ.

God created us as unique individuals, and yet He intends that we come together to complete His plan. As we keep our eyes open to the beauty and gifts of others, we see their value.

Providing an open and welcoming atmosphere is important to help each person feel comfortable in their "spot" in the body of Christ. Women of all ages, stages of life, cultures, giftings, and personal backgrounds are needed to accomplish all of the work of the body. We need each other.

"Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given us." Romans 12:4-6

A

im for the Lord's purpose and priorities.

God has a plan and purpose for each of His children. If we seek to know Him and understand the gifts and talents He has given us, we can use them for His glory.

He gives us enough time in the day to do what He wants us to do. We must understand that we can't do everything and nor should we try. But, we must move into action when we believe it is God that is asking us to do it. If we individually aim for God's priorities in our lives, we can come together to accomplish His whole plan. Working for His purposes keeps us from laboring in vain.

He allows us to rest. With His priorities set for our lives He can use us without overwhelming us. Jesus said, "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." (Matthew 11:29-30)

"Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain. In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat- for he grants sleep to those he loves." Psalm 127:1-2

"Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails." Proverbs 19:21

P

lace weaknesses in God's hands to use.

No one but Christ is perfect, but our Lord can use us even if we don't feel ready or good enough to do what His is asking us to do. He takes our best efforts and enlarges them in His power. If we risk planting the seed in our weakness, He grows it into what He desires it to be. Jesus himself had a team of imperfect disciples that he used. In fact, their weaknesses were part of the ultimate plan, allowing us to feel comfortable as followers of Christ even in our failures.

If we remember God can make beautiful things grow out of weaknesses, our expectation of others will not be higher than what God expects of them.

"'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me." 2 Corinthians 12:9

E

quip God's people for His works.

Jesus came as a model for us to follow. His disciples had a great deal to learn before they could lead on their own and so do we. Continual growth spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically is important for every woman.

We must learn to be good leader servants, and then teach and train others by providing them tools and opportunities for growth. Allowing others to share in the work is one way to build others up and help them see what God has for them to do.

"It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." Ephesians 4:11-13
