I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas season! It really is a fabulous time of year. We are all looking forward to the new year and hope to bring you some great ladies’ programs and events this year.Although we couldn’t bring you a Christmas event in 2009, we are hopeful that this year we’ll have some new ladies step in to help us put on great events this year.

Although we’d love to pack in a ton of big events, we know that many of us don’t have time to attend a lot, let alone plan and prepare those events. So, it really all comes down to balance The "B" Word. We are praying that God will use this ministry just enough to touch ladies’ lives for His glory, not missing any opportunities, but also not overwhelming anyone.

Her Place @ His Place

Her Place is our once-a-month ladies’ meeting where you can enjoy a special time just for you. We meet for a light breakfast in the fellowship area of the sanctuary, usually on the first Saturday of most months. On Saturday, February 6th we'll be celebrating "love", of course. The doors will open for food and fellowship at 9:45 am and the program ends at noon. Each month we spend some time in worship, hear a main speaker, and have the opportunity to attend workshops. Chocolate Boutique

Who doesn’t love chocolate?! Mark Friday, April 9th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm and Saturday, April 10th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on your calendar for our ladies’ Chocolate Boutique retreat! Treat yourself to a fun and refreshing time with the Lord and some girlfriends. You won’t want to miss out.

MOPPETS

If you want to make a BIG impact in the lives of mothers and their children, consider becoming a MOPPETS volunteer for the 2009-2010 year. Volunteers only commit to watch little ones (ages newborn to kindergarten) on the first and third Tuesdays from 9:00 am to noon from September to May. It is a fun and rewarding opportunity! Nursery help is especially needed. Volunteers also have the option of earning $10 per meeting for their time. Several of our Ladies’ Ministries programs include opportunities for speakers to share with women. If you have a message that the Lord has laid on your heart to share or a special hobby or talent, this is an opportunity for you to bless others with your experiences. Other childcare helpers

We appreciate those of you who have served as childcare providers for our ladies’ ministries events. It has such a great impact for those moms that couldn’t attend otherwise. Assistant childcare coordinator needed

Maria Alvarez, our Ladies’ Childcare Coordinator, is looking for someone who might be available during the day to supervise possible childcare for the next daytime Bible study. This person would be trained on the church’s policies and procedures for childcare and would help find others willing to come during the day to watch children. If you like to scrapbook, join Debbra Sligar and make it a social event! You can bring your current project and supplies, and a snack to share. Treasure this time with your sisters who also love keeping memories. They usually meet the 2nd Thursday of the month in her home or rotating homes. Christmas is over, the tree is down, kids are playing with their new toys and Santa has left town! Whew! With the hustle and bustle behind us, I hope you’ll join me for the ladies’ winter Bible study: Walking By Faith: Lessons Learned in the Dark, by Jennifer Rothschild. 

Jennifer has been a featured speaker for the nation’s largest conference for women, Women of Faith, and has teamed up with Beth Moore and others to lead national women’s conferences. She lost her eyesight as a teen, but gained something much more valuable … spiritual insight. With wit and wisdom, she relates some of the challenges in her life. Yet she speaks not as one who has overcome great hurdles, but as one who—like all of us—faces them every day.

By examining the practical differences between walking by sight and walking by faith, Jennifer offers valuable spiritual lessons on taking risks, giving God control, trusting in His will, persevering through hardship, and being guided by the truth. Created especially for women, this interactive Bible study promises to be an eye-opening experience. Registration begins Sunday, January 10th and closes on Sunday, January 24th. Please sign up as soon aspossible for this 7-week course. Remind your friends, too, so no one misses the deadline.

I look so forward to gathering together again. There’s nothing better than studying God’s Word! I pray that the Lord will bless each of us with His wisdom and sensitivity and prepare our hearts to receive all that He has for us as we embark on a very personal journey with Him.

Ladies’ Bible Study Coordinator

It is really important that you register this month because one of our workshops will require significant preparation and we'll need to know how many for which to plan. Please register as soon as possible.

The $5.00 donation is paid at the door, if you are able. If you bring a dish to share, that's payment enough, but please let us know if you're planning to bring something. Thank you! We'll work hard to make sure there is enough food this time. We've been having many more attend than register.
